Solenoids Electro-magnets and Electromagnetic Windings, 1914

 $15.95

by Charles N. Underhill
Softcover, 342 pages
origionally published 1914, reprinted by Lindsay Publications

This book gets fairly technical, but the basics are here as well. If you want to build an electromagnet to offer a desired field density at a specific voltage, this will explain exactly how. It includes detailed information about theory, and basic construction techniques. There is also information regarding permanant magnets. Some things have changed since 1914, wire insulation is better - iron is better, and new materials exist for constructin, but nothing here is obsolete and it is rare to find a book of this quality on the topic.
